Here’s the details about one of my favorite ways to start an oil painting☺️🎨 Starting with a charcoal drawing, I spray it with a fixative to keep it in place when I cover it with the oil paint. I use odorless paint thinner to wipe away excess paint and begin the underpainting process. The underpainting helps to unify the piece with the same ground color as well as establish values for the composition. The other benefit to this is that it provides a great base so in my next layer, I can use fast
